It was the first monoplane fighter of the Imperial Navy. In the early 1930s, the command of the Japanese Navy undertook a program of basing the development of naval aviation on its own designs. The tactical and technical requirements for an on-board fighter, announced in 1932, did not work, so two years later, new, improved requirements were issued, according to which the new fighter was to have a maximum speed of not less than 350 km / h and a climb time at 3000 m not longer than 6 min. 30 sec. The span and length could not exceed 11.0 and 8.0 m, due to the dimensions of the carriers on aircraft carriers. The team led by Eng. Jiro Horikoshi at Mitsubishi plants developed the Ka-14 project. The flight of the prototype with the Nakajima Kotobuki 5 engine (551KM) and the W-shaped airfoil (seen from the front) took place in February 1935. It turned out that it exceeded the requirements set for it too much (e.g. the maximum speed was higher by 100 km / h). The stability was worse and therefore in the next prototype powered by the Kotobuki 3 engine (646HP) the W-shaped airfoil was abandoned. The elliptical contour of the airfoil was retained, however. Despite the fixed landing gear and open cabin, the aerodynamics of the aircraft were carefully developed, and the system of the cantilever low-wing aircraft was a revolution in the tradition of biplane on-board fighters.
The Fieseler Fi-156 Storch (German: stork) was the most successful of the STOL-Short Take of and Landing aircraft used during World War II. The vehicle turned out to be very open to fire - even with small arms - and the armament used was inadequate to the goals set. Its serial production started in 1936, and many variants of this tank were created in its course. Chronologically, the first version was the A version, armed with a 37mm gun and a 230hp engine. However, already in December 1938, the E version was created, which was the first version produced in large series. It had a new, significantly more powerful engine, a completely new suspension and stronger armor in the front part of the turret and hull. Later (from December 1940) it was also armed with a more powerful 50mm cannon. In March 1940, the G version began to be produced, in which the rear hull and turret armor was reinforced. Soon after, in October 1940, the production of the H version started, which from the very beginning was armed with the 50mm KwK 38 L / 42 gun and had reinforced frontal armor. One of the most produced was the J version, which had armor up to 50 mm thick (later reinforced with aplique plates), and after the experience gained from the clashes with the T-34 and KW-1 vehicles - it was intensively rearmed for the KwK 39 L / 60 cannon. cal. 50 mm. The last development version was the N version, which was to be a support tank for armored grenadiers and was armed with a 75mm KwK 37 L / 24 short-barreled cannon. Numerous other vehicles were built on the chassis of the PzKpfw III, such as the StuG III assault gun. PzKpfw III tanks were used on almost all fronts of World War II - from the September campaign in 1939, through the campaign in France in 1940, operations Barbarossa and Typhoon in 1941, the Battle of Kursk in 1943, to the last operations of the German army against The USSR and the Western Allies in 1944-1945.

GERMAN TYPE III/IV MIXED CHASSIS DESTROYER TANK (LONG BARREL TYPE E)

In March 1944 , Wapplow awarded the production contract for the development of three new variants of the Pz.Kpfw IV . Beginning in June 1944 at Krupp Grusundweck, production of the Pz.Kpfw.III/IV series began in February 1945 . By July 12 , 1944 , Krupp was informed that the Pz.Kpfw.III/IV program was abandoned, and only the destroyer tank L / 70 program continued.

The successor to the Leopard 1, the Leopard 2, was first produced in 1979. The launch took place on May 30, 1911 at the Harland and Wolff shipyard. Hailed as a marvel of marine engineering, the Titanic was considered unsinkable. The first prototypes were built in 1941, and serial production was carried out in the period 1942-1945. In total, about 49,000 copies of this tank of all versions were created, which makes it one of the most produced tanks of the Second World War and the most important tank in the equipment of the Allied armies during this conflict. The M4 Sherman was powered by a single engine version of the M4A1 Continental R 975 C4 with a power of 400 hp . The vehicle was armed with - depending on the version - a single 75mm M3 cannon or a 76mm M1 cannon or a 105mm M4 howitzer and two 7.62mm Browning1919A machine guns.

The M4 Sherman was developed as the successor to the M2 and M3 tanks, although it used many of the latter's components. First of all, it only used a slightly changed chassis of the M3 Lee car. When designing the M4 Sherman, the emphasis was primarily on playing the role of an infantry support vehicle, and not fighting enemy tanks - this was the role of American tank destroyers. Only possible clashes with the carts were assumed Pz.Kpfw III and Pz.Kpfw IV. A significant role was also played in the mass production of the new tank and the lowest possible production costs. The result was a tank with good armament for 1942 and early 1943, average armor, but with a tilted front plate, but also with poor maneuverability and - especially in the first versions - very susceptible to fire as a result of hitting the engine compartment . At the same time, however, a tank was created that could be truly large-scale production and had a significant modernization potential. Many development versions were created in the course of serial production M4 Sherman. Chronologically the first was the M4A1 version that already had a cast armor. Another - M4A2 - had welded armor and a new General Motors 6460 engine with 375-410hp, but much less prone to fire. A version of the M4A3 also appeared, armed with a 105 mm howitzer and powered by a Ford GAA engine with a capacity of 450 HP. Based on the M4A3 version, two sub-versions were created: the M4A3E2 Jumbo with reinforced armor and the M4A3E8 with the HVSS and 76mm gun. An interesting development version was also the T34 Calliope with mounted missiles not guided on the turret. The M4 Sherman was also supplied in huge numbers to the British and Red Army.

1944, Wa Pruef 6 awarded contracts for the production of three trial Pz.Kpfw. The Me-262 was the first combat jet in the history of aviation. The first flight with piston engines took place in 1941, and with turbojet engines on July 18, 1942. The first design of the airframe, designated P.1065, was presented in 1939 and, surprisingly, differed significantly from the final version. It was quickly decided to use oblique wings and test the airframe in flight with piston engines (Jumo210), which was successfully completed in 1941. As a result of problems with the target power unit (BMW003 engine), the first jet flight on the Me-262 took place with Junkers Jumo004 engines. Interestingly, the Me-262 was structurally ready for serial production at the end of 1942. However, his entry into the line was significantly delayed. Firstly, due to material deficiencies (especially tungsten and chrome deficiencies), which forced technological changes, secondly, because of the failure of the BMW003 engines, and third, because of Hitler's resistance to the Me-262 being a fast bomber, not a fighter. As a result of all factors, the plane entered the line only in 1944! Given the already overwhelming advantage of the Allies in the air, the shortage of fuel and trained crews of the Me-262 could not have had a major impact on the course of the war. Undoubtedly, it was technologically superior to enemy aircraft, and the loss ratio was 1: 9 in favor of the Me-262. The F6 Hellcat was developed as a development of the successful F4F design. When designing it, 18-month-long experience with the operation of F4F in the Pacific and numerous comments of pilots fighting on Wildcat airplanes was used. Structurally, the F6 Hellcat resembled its predecessor with one major change. A low wing system was used, which allowed the landing gear to be retracted into the lower center wing instead of into the fuselage. This increased the track width and the stability in motion on the ground. Additionally, the cockpit armor was used and the ammunition was increased. The U.S. Navy's evaluation of the Grumman proposal resulted in an order in June 1941 for four prototypes - from the XF6F-1 to the XF6F-4 - each with a different powertrain. The XF6F-1 flight took place a year after signing the contract, but due to the urgent need to strengthen the Wildcats (F4F), the same airframe was equipped with the most powerful of the available Pratt-Whitney R-2800-10 engines, thanks to which the plane made its next first flight, this time as the XF6F-3. Even before this second flight took place, Grumman was commissioned to implement the F6F-3 into production as the Hellcat. At this stage, the similarity of the F4F and F6F resulted in a reduction in the time needed to implement the machine into series production. The flight of the first such machine took place at the end of 1942, and shipments to the USS Essex began in January 1943. In August of the same year, the VF-5 squadron from the USS Yorktown was the first to use its Hellcats against the Japanese.

The IJN I-400 Class submarine was the largest submarine in WW ... and the largest in the world until the development of nuclear submarines in the 1960s.I-400 had enough fuel to go around the world one and a half times and was able to carry 3 Aichi M 6A 1...Seiran.. aircraft that could be assembled for flight within minutes.
